I was on a 767 in F Sunday and the new suite has shoulder straps as mentioned. It seems the suite curves around and one could hit their head against the frame during a 'quick stop'?

The mechanism is much like the first generation shoulder staps in 1970s cars. It clips on to the regular belt and tucks away when not in use.
