The EC regulation 261/2004 states that you have a right of care. In your case AF should have provided some refreshments. The 2000 miles credit is an automatic commercial gesture that most airlines do not offer. I am not sure why you would expect additional compensation as delays are very frequent nowadays. But a five hour delay is indeed evry frustrating fr a 50 min flight.

By the way, I think that "baggage handlers and pushbackers" are not AF employees but ADP (airport) employees, so I doubt that it was an AF strike (I could be wrong and that is beyond the point).
