Sounds to me like the captain had a bad attitude and was unprofessional to boot.

To associate a perceived loss of credibility coupled with some grousing by the passengers with a potential for mutiny while the plane is still at the gate is pure BS. I agree with the previous statement about this guy being melodramatic. I hope you got the captain's name and submit a complaint to AA CS.
