Just took JFK-SFO on UA3 in F... excellent service at the RCC.. went up the the lady at the desk twice, to change stuff, and each time she thanked me profusely for my business...
F class was nearly full, but I was the only revenue passenger and the seat next to me was left empty... the SA's were a bit on the loud side pre-takeoff, but I didn't really mind and they were all pretty good natured... they calmed down during the flight, and just slept. The two FA's were excellent and they really appreciated me being the only revenue pax in F, and thanked me many times... Dinner service was by far one of the best meals I've had on UA, and even better than some longhaul SQ and CX flights I've taken.. started off with an excellent warm chicken appetizer with mushroom sauce (I would rate this a 2 star michellin quality item), and then had a clam chowder, followed by a ceasar salad, main course was a pecan crusted chicken which I had before, which I really like... desert was a hot fudge sundae with nuts and cocopops... throughout the flight, the FA's came around and asked if I wanted anything to drink.. think they came around about 5 or 6 times after the meal service. There were even 2 hot towel services before dinner and landing!
While the equipment (767-200) was a bit old, service and catering was really good... I haven't taken a 3 class transcon F in a while, and I don't ever remember it being this good before...
