My company booked a last minute trip in coach and the cost of a first class A fare was less than $100 more. I called Delta to pay the difference personally and was told that unless I had purchased a fully refundable ticket, I would have to pay a change fee in addition to fare difference.

Is it really true that you have to pay Delta a fee to pay them more$$$? If so will they waive it for a Platinum?
