I flown this many times, and I prefer LGA/JFK-ATL-PVR over connecting in MEX. That said, I haven't done the trip since T2 opened.

Don't forget that JFK-PVR has a Saturday-only nonstop that leaves in the am. Great way to go. (Though they still lost my luggage...)
