There is another alternative for the CUN-TPE part of the trip:

CUN-IAD-NRT-TPE, but I have to stay in Washington overnight, which I hear means I have to book a hotel?

Also, what's ANA like in economy over to the Far East? That's for the IAD-NRT-TPE part
