I booked five rooms for this past Sunday for my extended family. Two of the rooms were booked as premium (floors 25-32) and three as regular rooms (floors 10-15) with 2 Queen beds in each room.

The entry area for valet parking was a zoo when we arrived, but the check-in desk was quite empty. All the valet and desk staff were very friendly. There wasn't an upgrade available for my room as a Diamond member so they upgraded the three regular rooms instead. We ended up with 3 rooms on the 32nd floor and 2 on the 31st floor. We all had wonderful views of both the Horseshoe and American Falls. We were able to watch the fireworks show very well from our rooms.

The beds and sofabeds didn't have very supportive mattresses. Not surprising to me since it's a tourist hotel and not one competing for business travelers. The rooms are a little worn, but clean and spacious enough.

Didn't go to the manager's reception, but did like the complimentary non-alcoholic beverages they made available outside the reception hours. Our group went for breakfast at varying times between 8 and 9 am. At 8 am, there was no line at all for the food. At 9 am, we waited about 15 minutes at the made-to-order station and about 5 minutes at the buffet. There were lots of families and kids around.

It takes a long time between the time you call for the car to get the car (20-30 minutes) so call early. Avoid the Starbucks since each drink is about $1.50 more than I've ever paid at a Starbucks.

Basically, the hotel was better than I expected based on the comments here. In my opinion, the view of the Falls supersedes the downsides. And for the once every decade visit, it's worth the price.
