In my experience as a hiring manager, it is not easy to find people with enough flexibility in their personal life and the right temperment to handle frequent travel. I can't speak for the accounting field, but an IT person willing to travel shouldn't have any problem whatsoever finding a position; whether they will like a life on the road after they find it is a completely different story.
As far as travelling for IT, we lose folks in my department every year after they get cranky about having been on the road for 200-250 days the previous year (Personally, I would qualify anything under 300 days per year as moderate travel...). Granted, we don't get to go to many particularly fun locales, but it is travel, and it does rack up tonnes of points (Points being the meaning of life...).
