The 737-700 has a bit better performance out of some restricted airports such as SNA and some Latin America/Caribbean networks, which is where these planes were slated to fly. Eventually, you probably won't see a lot of these on domestic runs except for maybe some Southeastern turns out of ATL (like the SAV case) where it's the last flight out of ATL, first flight back up in the morning. In several cases, these flights are RJs right now, so a 737-700 would be an upgrade.
Configuration will be 12F/112Y for a total of 124 seats - a good 36 seats less than the 737-800 (and 18 seats less than the MD-80s, which are 14F/128Y=142 total).
