An Expedition is a good choice. You can use all three rows of seating and still have a moderate amount of luggage room.
Smaller is a Ford Explorer. Some of these in the fleet may be equipped for 7-passenger seating, but you'll have just about zero luggage space with the 3rd row up. If you can ride three across in the middle bench, this vehicle will be fine.
Either vehicle in space and on-road handling is far preferable to a Jeep Commander. The Expedition has a more livable 3rd row seat than a Chevy Tahoe, important if you're actually going to put adults into the 3rd row. Kids under 10 won't care.
Look for a vehicle with added rear A/C.
Given passenger space and luggage needs, is there some reason you dismiss minivans?
