Umm, that sounds weired. I don't think Emirates would bother about organising for X cakes each day (not to mention the headaches for those that cancel/change flights) network wide. That is too much generousity on their behalf (I wouldn't mind that though).
Could it be just an urban myth? I mean, imagine public transport (bus/train/tram) did the same hehe
