It is not very clear. New rule only counts mileage in 2-year window; Not clear if they will honor prior mileage as EQM...(which means, it's not clear if he will be granted Diamond). If he makes BEFORE Oct 08, he will be granted Diamond.
Not likely(OZ hasn't counted affiliated mileage as EQM)... but not sure.
All eligible *A metal miles(not segs; only OZ metal) counts toward EQM.
thank you for the clarification edta450.
so from #1- it is better to get option 1 as you have more years to requalify versus option 2( 3 yrs and 2 yrs). I believe my mom has started on her requalification.
a follow up question though. assuming she reaches her 40,000 miles by March '09, would the start of her new status reflect from March '09-March '11(2 yrs only from the new rule)...Or would it start on Febuary '11-February '13?(the end of her 3 yr diamond status now with asiana)...
The diamond plus is kind of confusing as well now...second scenario, if she travels from March '08-February '10 and reaches 100,000 miles again, does that make her diamond +?
I have called my local Asiana office and till now they have not yet briefed on this new rule, so basically I am still at a loss since I just learned my dad would be short of diamond by August(he would be reaching 99,912 miles on august, instead of october....and needs just 88 miles to be diamond)....should I advice him to take a short flight now or wait till this rule comes in effect? Which is more advantageous to him then?
Hope again for your inputs..thanks..
