Observations from a UK travel agent
-----------------------------------

Top tier flyers(1k or equiv), in my experience, come in two types.

1.Those that have worked their way through the system by finding they travel more each year. They are the ones that tend to value and understand the status and the airline 'game'.

2.CEO's, Board Directors etc. Have no idea about the ticket or the FT programme. Only ever fly first Class, so many benefits (upgrades, loung etc) never seem to bother them. Rely on their PA's to handle 'silly things like that'.

I know there are exceptions and by the very nature of this site most of the people on here will be type 1 or the exception to type 2.

Jon
Who is type 3. Doesn't travel on business, pays his own way. Travels as cheaply as he can and values the benefits his hard earned gold card gets him.
