To deny you protection on another airline due to an advance schedule change is not against the law but the right of the airline and the contract you entered after you bought the ticket.
DL has
not amended the Conditions of Carriage to delete this option. As such, it is a viable option for the original poster. In fact, even an amendment at this juncture would not do the trick as the contractual obligations of the parties would be governed by the rules in place at the time the ticket was issued. Furthermore, I believe DL would need to file a new international tariff with the U.S. Department of Transportation to effectuate such a change.
Your expertise and advice on FlyerTalk is extremely valuable. ^ But I hope you are not deciding on an ad hoc basis to deny customers who turn to you for assistance remedies that DL is contractually obligated to provide merely because you deem them "extreme."
