the rules are kinda complex for me..i was reading the new guidelines and would want to verify these issues..

1. My mom is a diamond member already till Feb 2011..she just got her diamond status in March 2008(100,000 miles)

With the new rules in effect, does it mean that by Feb 2011, she needs to earn another 40000 miles to be requalified as a diamond member in 24 months(as opposed to the old rule that she needs to earn those in 3 yrs)?
....meaning she needs to earn from october 1, 2008 to oct 1, 2010 to be in status as diamond member? what would happen if she only requalified by january 2011(reaching 40000 miles?) would they degrade her to gold membership already?

2. My dad would be going back to Manila by October from the US. He is at gold status now, and would be reaching his 100,000 mile sometime on october this yr. so what does that make him? diamond or diamond plus status(the new status?)

3. Does the bonus miles(5% for gold, 10% for diamond) count towards requalification as well?

4. To earn miles for status, does it have to be all with Asiana or can it be with OZ and any star alliance flight(e.g. travelling with UA or SQ) to reach their elite levels?


Hope anyone clarifies these questions as the new rule is kind of confusing, thanks..
