I'm the opposite. Outbound LAX, return SFO. LAX is easier to transfer, no long wait for transfer bus. Or if you choose to walk, have to go through TSA again. SFO lounge is admittedly marginally better. But SFO more prone to delays to inbound transfer a little dangerous.
On the return, SFO has arrival suite which LAX doesn't have. So a shower, shave, change of clothes and I'm ready for the day.
wasn't thinking arrivals lounge - so yes, SFO would win but the you can't get back to the IFL itself in SFO -- if you bring the arrivals lounge into it, my preference is SFO both directions
