Thanks Kagehitokiri! Yes, everything at the Olympics is bloody expensive, hotels rates are generally five times what they normally are, and tickets through agencies are pretty much daylight robbery. Flight fares, strangely, do not seem that affected, though availability will be an issue if one is not early. But I guess this is the Olympics and to be expected. This is the first Olympics my 75 year-old father will attend, as well as my 2 year-old daughter, and really everyone in the family, so it's definitely worth it to us.

I was not aware there are new two bedroom villas with pools at Amanpulo, so definitely would like to tour those, if there are any vacant. This trip is only my wife and I, so no need for a two bedroom villa, but would be nice if next time we took our daughter and nanny. One of our best experiences at an Aman was staying at the two bedroom Amankila Suite with pool, so I can imagine these to be wonderful as well!
