A good alternative to these is the Top of the World restaurant at the Strat. If this is your first trip to Vegas, you shouldn't miss it. A little pricey (about $120-150/couple including a couple of drinks,) but the BEST view ever. Go at twilight. You and mom will love it.

Good luck!
Thanks for the thoughts. How does Delmonico's compare to Carnevino at Palazoo. The reason I ask is I've eaten at two of Emeril's Nawlins restaurants and Emeril's on Universal Citiwalk in Orlando and have not been impressed.....plus I thought he didn't support New Orleans hard and fast enough after Katrina (compared to say Paul Prudhomme) so based on that and prior dining experience I'm reluctant to give my hard-earned money for a nice treat meal for my Mom to Emeril.

I love Mario on all the Food Network shows so would like to try one of his (one of the three seems a little too foodie for my tastes...).....I do like the Top of the World restaurant suggestion, thank you so much for that! (It is my first trip to Vegas)

And after dropping $400 for a medicore meal for two at a snooty French restaurant in London.....anything less than that I'm happy with as long as it's good food and service.

I do love Commander's Palace in Nawlins and haven't eaten there since pre-Katrina so I'd be happy for any reviews on the Vegas outpost. And what time is twilight in Vegas in mid-July?
