TSA does not like the elite lines, they want "their" solution instead which is clear and now these stupid black diamond lines. They play games to get people into the regular lines than stay in the premium line (e.g. one checker at premium also doing wheelchairs going very slow versus 3 at a very small regular line).
The airport needs to pay the extra people to monitor who goes into the premium line so any cost saving they can get, they're interested in but not at the risk of p*ssing of the airlines or the frequent fliers. IMO, the lines have less than 2 years to live with the "solutions" TSA thinks they are offering.
