We're in the process of booking a trip to NZ, which requires a connection in LAX. We will be arriving in LAX on AA from JFK and connecting to the Qantas flight to Auckland. Our present connection is 2:10. Is that enough time, or should we take an earlier flight? How far apart are the AA and Qantas terminals? Do you have to clear security again? If we take the earlier flight our connection would be 3:40 (which seems a little excessive), and we'd have to take the whole day off from work (which we don't want to do). Of course, this is 11 months from now on an award ticket, so I'm sure there will be a lot of schedule changes between now and then. So should we stick with the 2:10 connection or play it safe and go 3:40?
