It may depend on who is staying at a particular hotel on that particular night. I was at NYNY in April on a very quiet section of the hotel (Park Avenue Tower?) but overheard conversations in the elevator about loud kids on other parts of the floor. I never heard them. Excalibur and Luxor tend to be the cheaper of the MGM properties with very good room rates over the summer. I wouldn't discriminate against them because of the chance of having kids in the hall. You might pay $300/n at Bellagio or $200/n at MGM and have the same thing happen.
