I've found the only difference my Gold Card made was that I could log into the site with my card number and it retrieved my details. So it saved me 30 seconds typing them in before reserving a car.

Rates werent any better than I could get online anyway.

I rang central reservations and quoted my gold card number but the rate was an extra 60% on top of the standard rate I was quoted online so that was pointless.

I shall look forward to Platinum and see what happens.
