The swiss are a really funny bunch.... my dad has a client who has land sitting right on the border in fact half of the "nursery" is in Switzerland and the other half is in Germany. Now one day my dad was on the field for a crop inspection when all of a sudden this little man on his bicyle pitches up and asks to inspect their passport. They are in the middle of this field of lettuce!!!! It turns out he was indeed a Swiss Border Patrol and all had to return to their cars to pick up their ID s and in the case of the Germans it even required a passport. Now as it turns out one of the germans had not atisipated this little hitch and only had his ID card (ok for Schengen travel but the Swiss are not yet a member of the Schengen group) So this little Border Patoler stood his ground and instructed this person to remain on the german side. The Swiss guy even checked up on them a few mintes later to make sure this bloody german guy without a passport stayed out of Switzerland!!!

Too funny they all still laugh about it and everytime they visit this particular client everyone is told to bring their passports since you just never know......
