As you are on the first flight from IST, the aircraft overnights in Turkey; so you are not at risk of the aircraft being late into IST that day following delays on it from LHR or indeed into LHR from its previous sector.

The only bad delays I've had at IST were snow one February and some flights were diverted to SAW (Asian side of Istanbul) during heavy fog late in the year.
