Stupid question, how did you gain access to the FL in JFK? ORD is neither a transcon or international destination. I'm assuming you are traveling internationally as paid F or are an EXP. The 6.25PM LGA is rather late for a connection out of ORD.
As a BA Gold (or other non-AA OW Emerald card user), allowed into the FL ..... even on domestic-only short-haul trips when flying on AA (even if not in conjunction with an international trip).
