So without a status change the clock is twelve month period beginning/ending on sign up date.

How about if one becomes Elite Silver within that period, but outside of that one were to end up on a balance of 50,000 status miles within the last 12 months. Because there has been a status change does this mean that someone in such a situation would result in Elite Gold?
