Not true.....reservationists do not have a GA (gate agent) sine (ability to check-in or offload passengers) to a flight. In fact I would doubt few if any even at a supervisor level in reservations would have this access.
Just the thought of someone in India or the Philippines being able to check-in or off-load passengers while flights are being worked at airports sends shivers down my spine. They muck up reservations enough without me cleaning up real-time messes 30 to 60 minutes before a flight leaves !
