I think your orignal request was too wordy.

First of all, be sure that you make "SkyMiles" the main reason for your email to DL.

I'd say something like this: I was traveling on PNR xxxxxx. Due to a mechanical problem I was rebooked on an alternate route. I am requesting ORIGINAL ROUTING MILES (including MQM) for my itinerary. Thank you.


Short and to the point.

The only time I ever had a problem is when I did not make "SkyMiles" the primary subject of my email. Initially I got a disappointing answer from DL. But I re-sent my request with "SkyMiles" as my primary subject.
