TSA have had a problem with that. NYS charges the same as if I lost my license to get a replacement just because my address has changed (and the expiration does not change!).
While the license may be expired, it is a license to drive. We're flying, and not as the pilots. The fact that one's driving privileges are expired does not mean the ID is no longer valid, does it?
I wouldn't worry about it. They'll b*tch and moan and, in the end, let you fly.
This doesn't have to be distressing for you, but if you're in the right frame of mind, you can enjoy
their distress. Just make sure that you get to the airport in plenty of time to enjoy the
keystone cops show.
