Hi, domestically what I always do is check to see if business redemptions are available on the flight I want. Then I book them, and as soon as ticketed then I apply for the upgrades, which have cleared every time. You might want to try this approach next time.

In your case, if there are plenty seats available still on day of flight, then an ODU at the QP should work.
