Makes you wonder what's going on when this happens as often as it does. I simply got tired of having to fight that issue all of the time.
Sounds like a sophisticated traveler. I can't think of an instance where I could justify paying minibar rates. Room service is nearly always less expensive. Less expensive still are the markets/stores not far from the hotel that offer the same items for a fraction of the cost. Having the fridge emptied for your own use is the best advice possible.
