you may want to do some back research because there was an article written about this very topic, at least a year ago, I forget if in the NYT or WSJ, exactly about people nearly even paying more to rent the economy car than the SUV. I cannot find it now, since all searches on google bring up car rental ads, but if I find it I can post a link.
