If it sounds like I'm nitpicking - I am. I'm just hoping to have the best stay possible for my first time in Thailand.
The Pattaya property is far from the seediness/freak show of downtown Pattaya but downtown is close if you want more action (of either the seedy or non-seedy type). This is Thailand and some form of prostitution is never far from the surface in any hotel you might pick. The Hua Hin property is fine, it just doesn't offer the Plat recognition of other Starwood Properties in Thailand or Asia. Mrs LoM and I enjoyed our stay there but felt that the hotel was a little "cheap" with upgrades and breakfast. Everything else (apart from the room service, which had 2 of the most peculiar desserts I have ever encountered) was great.
