A few years ago I booked the air for 7 of us for a cruise. A month after it was booked and about 5 months before the flights, I noticed I booked the return the day before we docked. At that time the same fare was still available but it was a $100 change fee each.

I called CS and they linked me up with a reservation supervisor who made the changes with no charges. A $700 savings.

I doubt you would see that today.
