While a few of us might play the game every day for our five points, most people with see the biggest bang for their buck is signing up for a new credit card and doing some shopping (200+ points). In that case NW is making a profit (selling those miles to the cc company) and gives us a better shot a getting affordable tickets. (I just paid $850 to fly BDL-DTW-ATL RT yesterday!)
