I would suggest any benefit is dependent on whether or not you are Plat PC rather than Ambassador Status as Ambassador only applies to Intercontinental Hotels. I booked two rooms at the cheapest rate (IHG website special offer price) and was told at check in that I had been upgraded and later received fruit, water & wine as a gift.
The hotel does run a courtesy service into the Centre but there is also a bus stop outside the hotel which we chose to use. It’s not the easiest of hotels to find if you are using public transport though.
For the rate I paid I was very impressed with the hotel and would certainly have taken advantage of a 5000 points per night stay but chose to go to Stratford upon Avon instead
