Wow. A company in the travel industry that's changing away from policies that screw the customer. ^^^
This definitely changes my behavior on rentals -- I'll eyeball the posted price before I leave the airport and see if it matches what I see within 3-4 miles. If it's a fair rate and the stations are inconvenient or even mildly sketchy, I'll pay the $7 and save 10 minutes on the way back to the airport. Under the old policy, the penalty cost per gallon was so prohibitive (unless you'd fueled up < 50 miles before return) that it discouraged this behavior. $7? I'll pack a lunch one day and offset that.
Still not prepaying, though.
