Question. I know that milage upgrades can be used across a stopover. But here is a variation on the question.

I am flying
LAX-IAD (777, D class)
IAD-BOS (320, A class)
BOS-SFO (757, A class)
SFO-LAX-DEN-IAD (A class)
IAD-LHR (767, D class)

Can I use one 30,000 mile award to upgrade LAX-IAD-LHR? Or do the IAD-BOS-SFO-LAX-DEN-IAD flights disrupt the validity of the stopover?
