Yes. Then shortly after the reno I was there and it was still quite full. A couple sat down next to me after searching for two seats together and one of them said, "Wow, they need a bigger lounge here." I had to let her know that this was the newer, bigger lounge.

YVR gets full in the am, but I've never seen anyone denied entry. Likewise I've seen YYZ crowded late in the day, but never seen anyone denied entry.

Interestingly, I've been asked to show my AC boarding pass in YYC, with a remark that "we don't want any of those Westjet passengers in here".
