My first USairways travel snafu
So, looking for opinions.
I was a "price flyer" for 2 years, basing my choices strictly with a wallet.
When I began working for a new company that paid for the flights, I chose US as I am based in central PA. Other than the occasional PHL delay, I have really not had a lot of trouble.
I have been CP for 3+ years. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I did not get an upgrade.
Tonight was the first snafu.
Supposed to be
MDT - PHL at 6:32pm
PHL - DAY at like 8:30pm
As I checked into MDT, told the flight was 2-3 hours delayed due to weather and traffic. They did not want to put me on the UA flight (their words, not mine)
They then put me on
MDT - CLT at 7:55
CLT - DAY at 9:55
So 7:30 rolls around and they start calling names, but not mine. I find out from another guy, the 7:55 is delayed about 60 minutes due to a slow turnaround in CLT, our arrival will be after my connection.
I had a great gate agent, very nice, but was told there is nothing that can be done. I have to deal with getting me on a 5:50am flight tomorrow. Bear in mind, I need to wait for my bag, get my car and drive back home almost 2 hours. So here it is, almost 10pm, and I get to wake up at 2am to get ready to drive BACK to the airport.
So if this were a hotel, I would be entitled to points, compensations, etc.
Is there anything due in this situation?
