If you haven't already, take a look at the Star Alliance comparison chart under the Star threads under the Global Alliances heading on Flyer Talk http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum82/HTML/000002.html . If you are flying business class you might even consider Lufthansa's miles and more--status comes very quickly at 200% of normal miles for business class seats (basic + 100% bonus).
