LH reduced the pitch to 31" in the new Y because of the new recaro seats which are supposedly thinner and should give more legspace than the previous version. If its any consolation 31" on LH Y offers 'more' legroom that in US Y

Undoubtably LH Y while not the best in comfort does seem to offer some value to customers otherwise LH would not be running full in the back of the bus. LH is also not by far the cheapest on the routes they operate.
