So, if your significant other has no AAdvantage account, get him/her one and then pick up the first 500 points here:

Then, you might be able to get 1,000 or so before the deadline (if you're lucky and qualify for a few surveys) here:

So there's an extra 1,500 AA miles to transfer before the deadline to combine accounts.
If you send in the Kellogg's cereal certiciates and have already used the one-time "starter certificate" for your account (as I have), print another one out here and send it in with 2 certificates for another 500 miles:

You may also be able to get another 1,000 for signing up for the AAdvantage eSummary on AAdvantage.com (however, I wasn't able to get these additional miles on my daughter's account. Not sure if they still offer these)
In any event, you should be able to get an easy 2,000-3,000 for a new account and then use that to top off your existing one.
