I was on a CO flight from IAH to STL not too long ago when, during boarding, one of the pilots (the cap'n, I think) came out of the cockpit said to one of the FAs "I hear that there doing this over at UA, so I'm gonna give it a shot." He walked through the F cabin and held out his hand to an elderly lady in the first row of Y and said "M'am, I just wanted to welcome you aboard today. We're really glad you've chosen Continental..."

I got all warm and fuzzy inside.
