No, this is your mistake (and the mistake of anyone else doing this!) - only Y, B and H buckets can be upgraded, which can cost more than I class on a lot of routes. Similar things can happen upgrading from longhaul Y to WT+ - depending on the route and season, you can sometimes get T class for less than YBH.
