Since Marriott has diluted Elite status with the introduction of FREE GOLD ELITE....

I think its time Marriott enhance/sweeten the benefits for Platinums.

The +5% bonus and reservation guarantee does not justify the 25 extra nights required to achieve Platinum from Gold (which can be obtained for free).

As it is, reaching Platinum with Marriott takes the most nights of any program yet the benefits are sub-par.

I would like to see Marriott consider the following suggestions:

- Introduce the welcome amenity points guarantee, if the hotel fails to post your amenity points then the hotel owes you not only the points but also a $50 BB for (CY) or $100BB for (FS)

- Bump up the bonus by 5% so that it becomes 35%

- Guarantee breakfast at all properties world-wide including on weekends

- Introduce an annual suite upgrade EEO

Does anyone else agree its time Marriott sweetened the Platinum pot?
