I can't comment to the other hotels, but stayed in December in the palace wing of the Taj and we really liked it -- lovely environment, even the hallways were delightful. We had a Virtuoso package (thanks DavidO!) that included round trip transportation, a meal credit, and a few other things. It was also a nice location -- right by the water and Gateway of India, close to shopping, etc.
