I don't want to become Travelocity's biggest defender, but I just don't understand your point CaveatEmpty. The "Low Fare Alert" suggests that it lists fares that can save you "20% or more". Lots of fares are noted as well above 20% off. That is really irrelevant to me, though. I just want to see cities and fares. If the price feels right to me, then I'll buy, no matter how much someone says that I"m saving.
What I find most useful is that it allows me to plug in any departure city, and then it lists, in alphabetical order or by price, ALOT of destinations. A TON more than ever fit on the map of DreamMaps.
The original DM's required one to put in a departure city as well, of course. The drop down is easy enough. You can even speed it up by entering the first letter of the Destination city. Very typical drop down.
The results are more plentiful, hence a more informed traveller. And the method of booking, or learning more about availability (or non-availability) is the same as DM's.
That an earlier poster is writing emails to Travelocity to complain that DreamMaps is gone, and then complaining that it never worked well anyway, doesn't make sense.
I hope that Travelocity keeps this feature. It all works for me.
Aloha
