mikel51, is the 14" limit for domestic airlines or foreign ones? I thought the domestic limit was just length + width + depth had to be less than or equal to 45". Are there other rules?
United says:
Carry-on bag dimensions should not be more than 9 x 14 x 22 in/22 x 35 x 55 cm (length + width + height) or 45 linear in/112 linear cm (the length, height and width added together).

American seems to only have th 45" rule.

I don't know whether domestic airlines would really enforce the 14" width, but just thought I would point out that technicality (and also, I may get one of these bags and still haven't decided which I should go for).
